Dr Nina Lübbren is currently acting Programme Leader of Communication, Film and Media. Her research interests are in the area of nineteenth-century European art, in particular landscape and academic painting. She is the author of Rural Artists' Colonies in Europe, 1870-1910 (Manchester University Press, 2001) and the co-editor of Visual Culture and Tourism (Berg, 2003).
In 2002-03, Dr. Lübbren was the recipient of a Leverhulme Research Fellowship. She is currently working on a book concerned with narrative and its specific place in 19th century painting.
