Bernice Donszelmann is a practicing artist and a writer in addition to being involved with a number of curatorial projects as part of the research group 'Outside Architecture'. The ways that art practices can intervene within architectural space and our understanding of it has been a long-term concern of her research both practically and theoretically. Recent exhibitions have included Interior Life (Herbert Read Gallery, Canterbury, 2010), Architectural Fictions (South Hill Park Art Gallery, Bracknell, 2010) and Architectural Fictions (Stephen Lawrence Gallery, London, 2009). Recent and forthcoming publications and papers: "Facing Cinecitta", Block magazine, Spring 2011 (forthcoming), "Interior Life" (exhibition publication), "Semper's Wall: figuring ground" in Painting with Architecture in Mind: essays on painting and thinking architecturally, (Wunderkammer Press, forthcoming, summer 2011) and "Proposal for a materialist arena: painted space" presented at "Occupations: negotiations with Constructed Space", University of Brighton, 2009 and "Space, Time and the Image", APT Gallery, 2010.
