In horse breeding
things can go wrong
Equine Reproductive Behaviour Solutions
Failure to address problems can be costly.
Do you recognise any of these? In Stallions:
- Lack of libido
- Multiple mounts
- Failure to ejaculate
- Over-excitement
- Aggression
- Stress
In Mares:
- Failure to show oestrus behaviour
- Intolerance of mounting
- Failure to conceive
If so, you are not alone. All horse breeding operations occasionally encounter such problems no matter how well-managed. Sometimes they resolve spontaneously but often problems are persistent or re-occurring.
Often veterinary investigation finds no underlying cause. The problem may be behavioural rather than physiological.
