CoDE Director publishes new article on 'Ethologies of Software Art'
Dr Jussi Parikka's article "Ethologies of Software Art: What Can a Digital Body of Code Do?" has just been published in the book Deleuze and Contemporary Art, edited by Simon O'Sullivan and Stephen Zepke (Edinburgh University Press).
Continuing his interest in contemporary media art and software cultures, the article argues for an ethological perspective to software. Analysing some recent software and net art projects, the text argues for a specific way to understand politics of contemporary network culture which draws on the notion of 'imperceptibility'. Parikka is also involved as a Co-PI in the AHRC funded project New Configurations of Network Politics.
