Bidding farewell
We are sorry to say that we are bidding farewell to CoDE Director, Sam Rayner, and CoDE Visiting Fellow, Joe Williams, this summer. Sam is leaving for a post as Senior Lecturer in Publishing at UCL, while Joe returns to the University of Arkansas, USA. Everyone who's been in touch with CoDE knows just how hard both Sam and Joe have worked during their time with us, and how important and impactful their work has been.
During Joe's year with CoDE he has been involved with several other projects including creating a game based on the city of Cambridge, working on a virtual textbook, and researching digital culture institutes in the UK. He's also led a stop-motion animation film project with Anglia Ruskin students which will give CoDE its first promotional film. Sam needs no introduction, having led the CoDE team to many successes under her directorship - things will simply not be the same without her!
We held a quintessentially English afternoon tea, alongside a hands-on CoDE research showcase, on 27 June to say goodbye to them properly. Happily, though, we met a new member of the team at the event - CoDEy the Robot (pictured above), one of Joe's creations during his time here! Look out for him in the forthcoming CoDE game, which should appear on our website in the near future.
We'd just like to say a huge thank you to both Sam and Joe, and wish them very well for the future.
