CCNA Overview

The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) program teaches networking based on technology, covering protocols and theory at deeper levels reflective of university practices. Students learn the basics of routing, switching, and advanced technologies to prepare for the CCNA certification and entry-level networking careers.

Students would be expected to complete each Cisco CCNA module within 16 weeks. You will need to have achieved a 70% pass rate before progressing on to the next module in the order stated below.

The modules are:
CCNA Exploration 1 Network Fundamentals
CCNA Exploration 2 Routing Protocols & Concepts
CCNA Exploration 3 LAN Switching & Wireless
CCNA Exploration 4 Accessing the WAN

CCNA program

Location of study

We offer this program as a distance learning course where students have remote access to the curriculum and an online networks laboratory called NETLAB. We provide online support and a discussion board as part of our Anglia Ruskin Virtual Learning Environment.

Entry requirements

You should have a minimum of five GCSEs including a science subject. Alternatively a minimum of two years relevant IT related work experience is required.

You should also have access to a computer for study purposes as all of the course materials for CCNA are online. Due to the nature of these materials, the computer should have broadband (or equivalent) access.

You should be prepared to study for at least 4 - 6 hours per week for this course.

Course duration

This is training on demand and you will be able to start your training module within 5 working days from the time of registration.
