Profile of research areas
CEDAR undertakes world-class research in the area of enterprise development, entrepreneurship and SME Internationalisation. The team of academics delivers research work on behalf of a prestigious client list, including acting as expert consultants from advising on UK regional policy to undertaking assignments advising several European and South Eastern Asian governments on promoting SME internationalisation.
CEDAR has established a reputation at a regional, national and international level for the quality, integrity and professionalism of its work.
Prof Lester Lloyd- Reason
Lester has been researching for many years in the areas of SME internationalisation and entrepreneurial management, leading a number of national and international research projects.
Lianne Miller
PhD research focuses on entrepreneurial cognition, the interplay with management perception, and the impact on organisational growth and performance.
Dr Brynn Deprey
Brynn's expertise is in the field of international entrepreneurship, specifically on small to medium-sized professional service firms. Interests on the aspect of social capital to SME service firms' internationalisation process, specifically the dynamic nature between social capital, small and medium-sized management consultancies, and internationalisation in addition to the intersection of sustainability and entrepreneurship.
Dr Linda Piusa
Linda Piusa is a third year PhD student at the Lord Ashcroft International Business School. Her research interests focus on social entrepreneurship, not-for-profit sector management, relationships between law, regulation and entrepreneurship. Her current teaching responsibilities encompass undergraduate modules, including High Level Skills and Personal Development and Careers. She is also a Director of Enterprise Pathways, Ltd., CIC.
John Mabhegede
John's research interests span across the broader field of entrepreneurship and international enterprise development and his current research explores the systemic barriers (perceived and experienced) to internationalisation of SMEs in developing economies with specific focus on South African (SA) black entrepreneurial SMEs in their quest to access the UK market and the role of networks in addressing any obstacles.
Magdalena Partac
Magdalena's research interests are around SME performance. She is looking into the broad performance measurement and management body of knowledge in the context of the qualitative characteristics of SMEs. Current research is looking at analyzing the determinants of performance and how (or if) they can be embedded in a holistic performance measurement and management system (formal or informal).
