The annual graduation exhibition for the MA Children's Book Illustration students took place this year at the gallery at Foyles bookshop, Charing Cross Road. The forty-two graduates exhibited a range of artwork, picturebook dummies, character designs and 3D merchandising. Representatives of every leading UK children's publisher where in attendance and it was generally agreed that this was the strongest show so far. Already, several major publishing contracts have been offered. Two of the most sought after graduates this year were Marta Altes and Birgitta Sif, who were jointly awarded this year's Egmont Publishing Award and who have both been offered multiple publishing deals. But many others are now discussing terms with publishers including Random House, Hachette, Egmont, MacMillan, Nosy Crow and Walker Books.
