MA Children's Book Illustration graduate Marta Altés has won a silver medal in the 2012 Moonbeam Children's Book Awards for her picturebook No!.

The book, which was also shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2012, took the award in the category 'Picture Books for 4-8 Year Olds'.

The Moonbeam Awards were set up by Jenkins Group in 2007 to 'bring increased recognition to exemplary children's books and their creators, and to celebrate children's books and life-long reading.' This year's awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 10 November 2012, in conjunction with the Traverse City Children's Book Festival in Michigan.

Marta has recently finished work on a new book, I Am An Artist, to be published by Macmillan Children's Books in February 2013, and will be appearing at the upcoming Festival of Illustration to sign copies of her latest publication My Grandpa.

More information about Marta's work is available from her website.
