About the Centre
The Anglia Research Centre in Digital Culture (ARCDigital) promotes research in digital culture through the organisation of a research seminar series and conferences, and support for collaborative and interdisciplinary projects. We are dedicated to experimental, theoretical and practical encounters in the interzone between cultural theory, arts and the emerging sciences of network culture.Digital Culture is a growing area of research in the arts, humanities and social sciences as a whole, but also significantly at Anglia Ruskin. It has strong resonance with a range of cognate disciplines across the Department of English, Communication, Film and Media, and beyond in the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Science and the Faculty of Science and Technology.
Key areas of interest include: network society and culture; digital and network politics and society; digital art and time-based media; sonic and performance arts; practice-based research; alternative and radical media. We welcome applications from potential doctoral researchers in any of these areas.

In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise, RAE 2008, five subjects within the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences were rated as having 'internationally excellent' research and four subject areas as having 'world-leading' research. English and History were among the top-rated departments in the country.
