Ethics at Anglia Ruskin University
Anglia Ruskin's research ethics policy and procedures are determined by the Research Ethics Sub Committee (RESC), which is comprised of representatives from all faculties and lay members.After reading the RESC Guidance document(s), please complete the ethics review checklist and, if you have ticked 'yes' for any of the categories, please complete an application form. Please submit the form to the secretary of the Faculty Research Ethics Panel, Sue Short - MAR 325, Chelmsford, or email fst-ethics@anglia.ac.uk

How to encrypt your computer files
The storage of personal data that can identify an individual must comply with the Data Protection Act. If such data is to be stored on a computer the FREP guidance is that a) access to the computer should be password protected, and b) any relevant files must be encrypted where appropriate. The Faculty Research Ethics Panel usually meets on a bi-monthly basis to consider and will only consider those applications that will not be considered by UREC.If you would like any advice on completing the ethics application forms, please contact a FREP member in your department.

All ethics applications must be accompanied by the following forms:

- Participant consent form
- Participant information sheet
and must be signed by the applicant and the person supervising the research, if appropriate. Please check the RDCS website for the latest versions of these forms.
Research involving non-human subjects does not require specific ethics approval, but RESC guidance is available concerning ethics issues related to this kind of research.
