Psychology Masters Dissertation Conference
June 12th to June 13th, Corporate Suite, LAB111-113
Welcome! This is the second mini-conference for those students studying for a masters degree in the Department of Psychology. In this event, students who are just completing their Dissertations in MSc Clinical Child Psychology, MSc Cognitive & Clinical Neuroscience, and MSc Research Methods for Psychology will present their research. The talks cover most areas of psychology and neuroscience and the presentations promise to be enjoyable and enlightening. We also use this event to welcome visitors to the department.
Last years event was a hugely successful celebration of our students work and accomplishments. Overall there were 28 talks over two days. Every single talk was well prepared and practiced and were enjoyed by an audience of undergraduate and postgraduate students in addition to lecturers from the Department of Psychology. We were also visited by the Dean of the Faculty of Science & Technology. During the poster presentation, prizes were awarded for the top three posters:
Deniz Aktan won third prize for his poster ''A study on perceived stress of university students: Whether reed music affects perceived stress level''.
Melissa McCrae won second prize for her poster "People's Understanding of The Recent Riots".
Chloe Powell won the prize for the best poster "The Relationship between the Self-Management Techniques and Hemispheric Lateralisation Used in Individuals with Dyslexia."
This year promises to be even better. We have 28 talks scheduled. Please come along and feel free to ask the students questions about their research and the courses and enjoy the day.
