Department exhibits at the United Kingdom's largest Optical Convention

Our Department of Vision and Hearing Sciences exhibited at Optrafair for the first time. The bi-annual event, held between the 9 and 11 April at the NEC in Birmingham welcomed over 7,000 visitors across three days, making it the United Kingdoms largest gathering of optical professionals and retailers. Our staff helped man the Departments' stand, answering questions on courses, networking and giving advice.

Paul McCarthy, Senior Lecturer with the Department, who helped organise the event commented "Our presence at Optrafair gave staff the opportunity to discuss our Department and courses with many interested visitors from all parts of the optics industry. Our participation at this event will help us forge wider links with both frame and lens manufacturers, many of whom already take an active interest in providing product and technical advice to both staff and our students".
