Accreditation for Civil Engineering courses
Peter Crabtree, Head of Department for Built Environment
After a recent visit to Anglia Ruskin's Department of Built Environment, the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) have confirmed that three Civil Engineering courses have achieved accreditations.
BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering has once again been accredited for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status and BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering has been newly accredited for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.
A new accreditation for MSc Civil Engineering means that holders of an IEng accredited degree meet the requirements of further learning for a Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
Four professional bodies, including The Institution of Civil Engineers, form the JBM to work and strengthen links with universities and industry.
Peter Crabtree, Head of Department for Built Environment, said:
"Achieving accreditation from the JBM for our Civil Engineering courses is a great achievement for the Department of the Built Environment and is recognition for the hard work that both staff and students have put in over the last few years."
Accreditation shows that a university programme meets the quality standards set by the profession for which it prepares its students. For aspiring engineers looking to progress to professional status, completing an accredited course provides the automatic, fast-track route and ensures the quality of the education provided.
