Personal Profile

After qualifying as a dispensing optician in 2005, Jan started studying optometry in 2007 in Berlin. Jan gained his Bachelor of Optometry/Ophthalmic Optics (BSc) in 2010, and Masters of Optometry/Ophthalmic Optics in 2013. During his apprenticeship and study, he gained experience in various optics companies. In addition, he worked part-time as an product manager-assistant for the intraocular lens producer Oculentis in Berlin, with a strong focus on research around the anterior eye and intraocular surgery. In January 2013 he started as a PhD candidate with the project "Psychophysical and electrophysiological investigations of binocular rivalry for luminance-modulated and contrast-modulated visual stimuli."
