Joćo Manuel Maciel Linhares gained is degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences in February 2002 at the University of Minho, Portugal. He completed his MPhil degree in Optometry and Neurosciences at The University of Manchester, UK, in February of 2006. He completed his PhD at the University of Minho, Portugal.From late 2001 until 2007 he was a teacher of Optometry and Contact Lenses at the University of Minho, Portugal and worked in private and university clinical optometric practice.
He joined the Department of Vision and Hearing Sciences, Anglia Ruskin University, as a Lecturer in March 2011.
Research interests
- Colour perception of normal and colour deficient observers.
- Influence of the spectral profile of coloured lights and coloured lens in the colour perception and colour diversity.
- Colour simulation and representation of hyperspectral images of natural scenes and artistic paintings.
