Tissue Culture
Our three-day course introduces the fundamental basics of cell culture for those who are planning to commence work that involves cell culture, either as a part of a research project or with a commercial organization. It does not require any prior experience in cell culture.

Topics

Participants will receive practical training on cell culture which includes lecture and practical sessions on a range of topics including:

  • Introduction to the cell biology and cell culture
  • Safety in the cell culture laboratory
  • Sterility maintenance and aseptic technique
  • Cell media, supplements and choice of growth matrix
  • Thawing of HepG2 cells
  • Cell count, viability check
  • Trypsinization & passaging of cultured HepG2 cells
  • Trypsinization & cryopreservation of HepG2 cells
  • Good cell banking practice, record keeping

Details

The course is held twice a year - in June and November and each participant will obtain a certificate of the course completion.
