Personal Profile / Teaching Experience
Teaching ExperienceSenior Lecturer in Building Surveying, Anglia Ruskin University (2005 to present). For undergraduate teaching, I am involved in a diverse teaching (lectures, seminars and tutorials) and module leadership in facilities and property management, professional practice and contract management, building construction, research methods, and supervision of dissertation at undergraduate and master levels.
I have successfully supervised the following professional doctorate candidates at various stages of research:
Peter Defoe has successfully achieved his doctoral award in March 2008 (The Validity of Daylight Calculations in Rights to Light Cases).
- Malvern Tipping has successfully achieved his doctoral award in October 2011 (British Bank Halls as a Property Investment)
- Keith Gale has passed his three Stage 1 papers and research proposal in April 2011 (Performance Improvement within Construction Frameworks).

Research Interests
My research interest lies in real estate asset management. My research focuses to apply economics and management theories and principles to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the construction management and business processes in asset management of housing organizations. My main research areas are privatization and outsourcing, strategic and change management, performance and quality management, property management and maintenance, as well as waste management.International Scholarship
- Presenting a CPD paper on ?development of intelligence housing estates? for the CIH Northern Ireland Branch in 2003.
- Presenting four refereed papers in the RICS Construction and Building Research International Conferences (COBRA) in Dublin (2008), Cape Town (2009) Paris (2010) and Manchester (2011). See my publication list in Section 12.
