Personal Profile / Teaching Experience

David Kroll is an architect with experience in both professional practice and academic teaching. He has held lecturing positions in Architectural History & Theory at the University of East London and Architectural Design at the University of Kent. Before his doctoral research, he worked most recently for C.F. Møller Architects, London, on the Athlete's Village and the Darwin Centre.

Research interests

  • Arts & Humanities Research Council doctoral award, supervised by the Centre for Metropolitan History (IHR), University of London, and the Survey of London. The PhD research focuses on the design and planning of London's speculative housing 1870 - 1939, and on the generally unknown individuals that were responsible for it.
  • Wider research interests: housing, vernacular architecture, construction history, development of architectural profession
