Personal Profile / Teaching Experience

Aidan is a Civil Engineer who has been involved in education for many years in Industry, Secondary and Higher Education. He has been delivering modules successfully at Anglia Ruskin for over twenty years and during that time he has also been an Associate Lecturer at Cambridge University in the Faculty of Economics and Politics. In latter years he has specialised in delivering both surveying and CAD to Built Environment students. As a now grizzled CAD-jockey he has taught users as CAD has evolved from an electronic drawing board to a powerful tool that can be used to enter a virtual world that allows one to design, analyse, visualise and control construction across a building lifecycle. Advances in CAD have been paralleled by those in surveying where his students now use instruments that utilise Bluetooth, mobile phone, laser scanning and GPS technologies to enhance their purely optical functions in order to provide high quality data essential to the construction industry.
