Essex Planning Skills Series

September 2012 to March 2013

In partnership with the Essex Planning Officers Association (EPOA)

The Essex Planning Skills Series is comprised of up to 12 quality planning delivery and skills workshops.
The series has been sponsored and made possible by the consortium of 12 Essex district councils, Essex County Council, and Southend and Thurrock councils, working in partnership via the Essex Planning Officer Association.
The 2012/13 series is the ninth annual series, adding to over 80 training workshops delivered across Essex in partnership with EPOA since 2004.

Staff and Councillors from partner councils should book via their Council Co-ordinator from their Council's allocation of places for each workshop.

Other delegates need to complete the External Booking form for external bookings.

The workshops are designed particularly for:

  • Council Planning Officers
  • Wider council/public sector staff and Councillors working on planning and related issues
  • Other planning/developments professionals, so is also open to people from other organisations

The workshops combine:

  • coverage of key current and future challenges
  • addressing skills issues, linked to the target audience
  • expert speakers, followed by discussion
  • case studies of best practice, including local examples
  • appropriate practical exercises in a day skills workshops
We aim to make these workshops as accessible as possible. To help us meet this aim, please let us know if you have a mobility or other impairment requiring assistance or support.
