Welcome to the Department of the Built Environment

We are a large multidisciplinary department with the most comprehensive Built Environment portfolio in Eastern England.

We have a long experience of providing programmes which are highly valued by industry and practice. Our courses are fully up-to-date through our close links with employers and professional bodies and by our highly experienced academic staff.

We offer range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, covering a wide variety of topics in Architecture, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction, Housing and Real Estate Management.

Our department is located in a new building on the Chelmsford campus, with first class modern teaching facilities and laboratories.
