The interview process

Interviews take place within Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education at least twice a month from October to April.

Candidates will either attend individual interviews or be asked to take part in a group interview. Some of our health programmes, such as nursing, require the prospective students to take a literacy and numeracy test and to demonstrate some understanding of the type of nursing they have chosen.

We work in partnership with our local Healthcare Trusts and a member of one of these Trusts also participates in the selection of our students.

You may want the opportunity to observe the individual or group interview, to ask the candidates to consider health or social care from a patient/client perspective, or to advise on what you consider to be important attributes of health and social care practitioners. Ultimately, you would have a say on the final decision of the candidates performance at interview.
