Studying in the Library

The faculty offers the following research degrees:

Master of Philosophy(MPhil) / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Open to graduates with a good first degree or Masters degree.

MD by Research - Doctorate in Medicine
Open to graduates in Medicine or Dentistry

PrD - Professional Doctorate (Health & Social Care)
Designed for working professionals in health & social care. Direct entry for those with a Masters degree or those with demonstrable experience in research and research application in their job role. A pre qualifying course (PGCert in professional studies) is available for those without a qualifying degree or experience.

EdD - Professional Doctorate in Education
Designed for working professionals in education. Direct entry for those with a Masters degree or those with demonstrable experience in research and research application in their job role. A pre qualifying course (PGCert in professional studies) is available for those without a qualifying degree or experience.

INDOSOW
INDOSOW is a partnership between four European schools of social work including the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education at Anglia Ruskin University. In addition to ordinary PhD studies at your home university, the programme provides three core modules on comparative methodology, theories and models of social work and social policy, and diversity studies. These are taught as part of a summer school of two weeks, which takes place in Slovenia.

Higher Doctorates
Submission of substantial published research by those with a PhD, MD or PrD in a defined discipline are eligible for the award of Dlit, DSc or Dtech.

By published works
In addition MPhils, PhDs and MDs are available through 'by publication' routes to researchers established in their fields who have significantly contributed to the research literature. With a doctorate through submission of their published research works.
