“I chose to study at Anglia Ruskin because I liked how it was a campus-based university. Everything is in one place, meaning you don't have to travel far to get to lectures, to the library or to go and meet your friends.
What attracted me to the course was that it was 50% theory and 50% practical. It gives you the opportunity to make up if you are lacking in one aspect of the course.
The aspect of the course that I enjoy the most is going on placement, for sure. This is because they may show you one thing during a lecture, but you never really understand what they are saying and it never really clicks until you are on placement and witness it first hand!
That is just one example of how useful placement can be; it also throws you into situations that you never thought you'd be able to handle and you talk to people you'd never think you'd talk to. Of course, not every situation is perfect or ideal but you will come out of a situation and have learnt something from it.
The support offered by the staff is great - they are always available whether it is via email or in person to help you with any problems you have regarding placement or assignments.
It is hard fitting my studies around other commitments, but its something that you get used to and something that your friends and family will understand. However, there is always time to socialise, have fun and work if you want to.
So far, I have really enjoyed my time on the course and I just hope that it continues the way it has started!
