“Why did you choose to study at Anglia Ruskin University?
The university was close to home, and out of the four I visited Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) seemed to offer the best services and advice.
Which aspects of your course do you enjoy most and why?
Placement - I find it so valuable to work alongside qualified nurses especially after gaining as much knowledge and many new skills
Has the course met/exceeded your expectations? If so, how?
The course has definitely met my expectations throughout my studying so far. I have been able to ask for and receive help when needed and also I have learnt so much.
Why would you recommend your course to others?
The course has so much to offer - gaining skills from placement, gaining knowledge from lectures, learning and updating knowledge of skills learnt through allocated skills days. Also I have made some excellent friends and I just believe nursing is the best job to do!!
Please tell us about any special features that you have benefited from on your course.
I have benefited from gaining extra help from tutors when I failed an assignment. One academic took a total of about three hours of her time to book tutorials with me.
Please tell us about any links with industry that you have benefited from on your course.
Being on placement has meant I have links with the nursing industry. And the links I have made with different services means I will always have professional contacts throughout the rest of my training and when I am qualified.
How do you feel that your studies at Anglia Ruskin will help you in your current job?
My studies have provided me with the necessary theoretical knowledge to help me in my current job. This has improved my skills as a student nurse.
What are your ambitions/plans for the future, and how do you feel that your course will help you to achieve these?
When I am qualified I hope to work in critical care. I feel that everything ARU has given me the opportunity to learn and take part in will help me in my future employment.
How do you rate the support offered by both our teaching and support staff?
Excellent - all staff that I have come across having been willing to take time out of their schedules to support me.
What was the favourite aspect of your non-academic life? i.e. any social/sporting activities.
Making new friends at university and being able to socialise with them. Making friends at university has also given me the opportunity to get a different perspective on any problems I have had with regards to studying or placement.
How would you sum up your experience of studying at Anglia Ruskin course so far?
I have had a wonderful experience at Anglia Ruskin University and would definitely have not got where I am today without the university.
