“Why did you choose to study at Anglia Ruskin University?
The university campus is easily accessible and it was my local university. I was also attracted by the prospect of being able to train at Addenbrookes.
Which aspects of your course do you enjoy most and why?
I enjoy being out in placement, I like the environment and learning and doing at the same time. I also like dealing with people.
Has the course met/exceeded your expectations? If so, how?
The course so far has met my expectations. The lectures have been informative and well presented and skills sessions let you practice before being let loose on the public. I have been provided with practice placements that have assisted in achieving learning outcomes.
Has your course involved any work placements? If so how were these useful?
The nursing placements have been on the whole beneficial and have taught me vast amounts in terms of nursing skills, as well as communication and organisational aspects of care.
What are your ambitions/plans for the future, and how do you feel that your course will help you to achieve these?
I'd like to start off in a hospital, preferably on a surgical ward as this is where I have enjoyed a placement. In the future I would like to try working in A+E or ICU, and then possibly practice nursing in time to come.
How do you rate the support offered by both our teaching and support staff?
The support form my Personal tutor has been good, she has been there to answer any questions and to assist with any problems.
How do you rate our facilities and resources on offer at our campuses?
The training facilities are great, the skills labs and theatre are modern and up to date with modern technology. The skills facilities are particularly useful for practicing invasive procedures before doing them in real life. The environment is a fantastic place to learn, in a great setting.
How would you sum up your experience of studying at Anglia Ruskin course so far?
It can be hard work, busy and stressful, but at the end of the day you know your doing for the right reasons, to help other people and to make a better future for yourself and your family (future or otherwise).
