Why did you choose to study at Anglia Ruskin University?
For the chance to study at a well established university that has strong educational links with local hospitals such as Addenbrooke's.

What initially attracted you to your course?
Having studied Biology and Chemistry at A Level and working within a community Pharmacy, I was a self proclaimed science geek. However, I had never anticipated that my love of human health and disease would lead me to decide to start a career in Nursing. It makes complete sense of course, as Nursing is a perfect blend of scientific theory of human anatomy and of putting that knowledge into practice. This opportunity to further myself and hopefully become a valued, helpful and active healthcare professional was and still is an exciting prospect.

Which aspects of your course do you enjoy most and why?
I feel very privileged to be studying a profession that is so rewarding. It's a wonderful feeling to get home at the end of a long day and feel I have contributed positively towards an individual's journey through healthcare.

Why would you recommend your course to others?
The opportunities this course has offered have been so outstanding. It is a very unusual course in that not only are you offered the opportunity to learn from experienced and very knowledgeable lecturers within University but you also have the chance to try out that theory first hand, hopefully making a difference to a client/patient's wellbeing.

Has your course involved any work placements? If so how were these useful?
Having the opportunity to put into practice the theory learnt in university is such a wonderful experience. Whilst on placement I have been lucky to work alongside exceptional members of staff at Addenbrooke's Hospital and in the local community healthcare services who are always willing to take the time to share their knowledge or skills

How do you rate the support offered by both our teaching and support staff?
The staff within the University are fantastic. Whether it is a worry about Nursing studies, placement or even your personal life, the support from all members of staff is beyond fantastic.

How do you rate our facilities and resources on offer at our campuses?
The libraries at Fulbourn and the main campus on East Road offer a great selection of resources and the staff are always more than happy to help you with any concerns. The library website has also been essential to all of my assignments and learning.

Please tell us about any course/Faculty specific facilities that you have found useful during your studies.
The skills labs at Fulbourn campus are such a great environment to learn clinical skills in a similar environment to that of a hospital with all the same supplies but in a safe and supportive environment. It certainly helps to make that first day as a student nurse on placement a lot easier!

How would you sum up your experience of studying at Anglia Ruskin course so far?
Despite the hard work involved, this course has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has helped me grow personally and professionally. I can't wait to graduate and make the most of the opportunities it will allow for!
