April Bloom

BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing

Why did you choose to study at Anglia Ruskin University?
For the chance to study at a well established university that has strong educational links with local hospitals such as Addenbrooke's.

What initially attracted you to your course?
Having studied Biology and Chemistry at A Level and working within a community Pharmacy, I was a self proclaimed science geek. However, I had never anticipated that my love of human health and disease would lead me to decide to start a career in Nursing. It makes complete sense of course, as Nursing is a perfect blend of scientific theory of human anatomy and of putting that knowledge into practice.

Stephanie Miles

BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing

How do you feel that your studies at Anglia Ruskin will help you in your current job?
I feel that my current job will help me in my future career as a nurse, because I will gain more experience in the basics of patient care. Also I will learn more about communicating with the patients and feeling more comfortable in the hospital.

What are your ambitions/plans for the future, and how do you feel that your course will help you to achieve these?
My ambitions are to hopefully work in A&E or Medical Assessment Unit once I qualify, because I like the fast pace and because you need to know about everything. Then after a while of that, I feel I would like to specialise as maybe a cardiac nurse or go into the community. The course will help me with these ambitions because I will learn the skills I need to know. Also in my elective placement in 3rd year hopefully I will get my first choice, which is in a big A&E department so I will get a small amount of experience.
