3rd year Clinical Physiology student, Annalisa Bellamy (2nd from the left in the picture), has once more excelled in national bowls competitions.
Annalisa was the skip (captain) of a ladies fours team from Spalding Bowls Club in Lincolnshire who won the senior ladies national fours title in the national indoor bowls competition. Annalisa, 23, captained a team of 17, 18, and 25 year olds whose combined ages meant that they were the youngest to win the competition by about 80 years as well as being the youngest team ever to win the title.
The Ladies National Fours win means that Annalisa's team will now be representing England in the Senior British Isles Championships next March, which will be taking place in Wales.
Annalisa was also part of the Lincolnshire Ladies team of 24 players who went on the win the Atherley trophy. This is a national competition where players represent their whole county so players from all different clubs in Lincolnshire are selected.
In addition to this Annalisa has also been selected for a National U25 and a senior trial for outdoor bowls, which will both take place in May.

Annalisa said:
"Perhaps the senior trial has been down to the National Fours win indoors and also the fact that I was part of a pair that beat the Commonwealth Ladies Pairs team who went on to win the gold medal last year! I was asked to play against them in a practice game which was held 3 weeks before the went off to represent England in Delhi"
This year's victories add themselves to an impressive record of achievements. Anna has bowled since she was 9 years old and started representing England at 16. She was selected for the England Ladies Under 25 squad this year for the 7th consecutive year and went on to win the U25 British Isles Series in January.
