Professor Diane DeBell of the Faculty of Health and Social Care and a group of expert writers on child health have put together a comprehensive and challenging text that stimulates debate on public health practice.

Many subjects central to the promotion of a healthy childhood are covered, including the impact of parenting and ethnicity, gender and disability. The text provokes readers to reflect on their own clinical practice.

Accredited to the RCN, this book will appeal to a wide range of health and social care professionals working with children. It will also be invaluable to students, policy makers and service managers.

Edited by Professor Diane DeBell, this book was published in the UK in June 2007 and in the USA in August 2007. Three additional members of the faculty have also contributed to this new book, Dr Lesley Gelling, Dr Tina Moules and Niamh O'Brien.

The book is available via Hodder Arnold Publishers.
