2nd year adult Nursing student Adam Roxby was recently on hand to help celebrate the best in student nursing and nurse education at the 1st ever Student Nursing Times awards.
On the 1st of May 2012, over 230 people gathered at the Grange Hotel near St. Paul's Cathedral in London to celebrate the first ever Student Nursing Times Award.
Award categories included student nurse of the year (in all branches), mentor of the year, placement of the year, lecturer of the year and many more.
What made the awards even more amazing is that the Student Nursing Times is less than a year old. Adam who studies at our Chelmsford campus is the Student Nursing Times, Student Nurse Editor and helped launch the site in September 2011.
Adam joined high profile speakers such as Peter Carter; general secretary and chief executive of the Royal College of Nursing and Jane Cummings; chief nursing officer in delivering a speech on stage. Adam then assisted Nursing Times and Student Nursing Times Editor, Jenni Middleton in handing out the awards to all the worthy winners.
You can hear Adam's speech and interviews with some of the winners in Episode 2 of The Student Nursing Times Podcast which is due for release on the 1st of June. Find it on iTunes by searching for ?Student Nursing Times? or head over to www.studentnursingtimes.net.
Registration for interest is being taken for the 2013 Student Nursing Times Awards. For full details of the 2013 awards as well as a complete list of winners from this year visit the student nursing time award pages.
