Ghana Visit
Orphaned children in Ghana have been given a football kit donated by a Huntingdonshire Colts team.
Five student nurses from the Faculty of Health and Social Care at Anglia Ruskin University took the kits to the orphans during a three-week long work placement in October. The Huntingdonshire-based nurses Sally Cooper, 20, Gemma Edgely, 22, Lois Golding, 44, Charlene McEwan, 41 and Sarah Rowlett, 23, went on the trip to raise awareness of the medical services available in Africa. As part of the trip the nurses also took along a football kit donated by Somersham Town's colts.
The nurses gave the kit to an orphanage that looks after children affected by HIV/Aids.

"Aware that the Ghanaians love football, we took a team football kit over to Africa that was donated by Somersham Town Football Club, formerly Bluntisham Rangers. We had the most fantastic time and the boys loved the kit."
