Anglia Ruskin University graduate Fran Williamson has launched a campaign to help fulfil her dream of taking part in the Olympic Torch Relay.

The Paralympic swimmer, who gained a first class honours degree in Social Policy at Anglia Ruskin, is seeking to gain as many nominations as possible to help secure a place as a torch bearer when the relay passes through Cambridge on 7 July 2012.

The 25-year-old, who won medals at the Paralympic Games in Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008 is urging people to back the 'Fran for the Flame' campaign.

Everyone knows about the torch relay, and it would be an amazing thing to be a part of and represent Cambridgeshire.

The progress of the torch is something that will capture the imagination of the nation.

I really hope people will nominate me. The support of people in Cambridge is really vital in my quest to be part of the torch relay and I'd be so grateful for all the nominations people make.
