Jessica Leavens, who graduates this year, was 1 of 50+ nominations under the 'You Made a Difference scheme' at Addenbrookes and has been chosen as one of two winners for the month of August.

Jessica was thrilled to have won and will soon be soon commencing employment at Addenbrookes as a qualified nurse. The presentation was made on the morning of Thursday 26 August on ward A3 at Addenbrookes. Dr Goodier, CEO, and Brenda Hennessy's, Director of Patient Experience & Public Engagement (also Chair of the You Made a Difference panel), made the presentation which was also attended by Jessica's personal tutor Sue O'Sullivan.

Nominated by Mr Malcolm McLaren, he commented ''Although all the nursing staff on this ward are exceptional, Jessica stands out. She works to the highest of standards, maintaining a patient's dignity at all times. She is a jovial person who helps to make your day relaxed with her endless devotion to her job. If you have any concerns, Jessica is always there to help you and promote a speedy recovery''.

These comments were echoed by Senior Sister of ward A3, Clare Wilks, ''I would like to relay my complete joy that Jessica has been chosen for such a great award. I have heard nothing but praise and lovely comments from all staff of all levels who work with Jessica on the ward. Someone who is consistently kind, safe and excellent to everyone she comes into contact with and who is a real pleasure to work with''.
