A New Drug and Alcohol Therapy Group Develops
A collaborative project has secured new funding after work from Anglia Ruskin University and the NELFT Drug and Alcohol teams (based in Ilford).
The project has begun to deliver two five week Solution Focused 'intervention' groups (with ten clients in each group) as well as a 10 week follow up Solution Focused discussion and support group for people with drug and alcohol problems.
The groups began in December 2010 and are co facilitated by Spencer Hempstead from the Drug and Alcohol Services who first envisaged the project and approached the University and Dave Hawkes from FHSC. Spencer's team have a track record of innovation in drug and alcohol service provision and Dave is studying a PHD in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and its application in diverse mental health clinical settings.
