Courses

I support students on the RN (child) program and the Foundation degree for children and young people. I teach on a number of modules across the program and supervise students undertaking their final project.

Outline of career

Tanya trained as a nurse and developed a range of knowledge of skills in child, adult, and cancer nursing and education. she has been a senior lecturer in Nursing in a number of institutions and has been at Anglia Ruskin since 2001.
Tanya is a member of the Family and Community Studies team within the Faculty of Health and Social Care and teaches on a number of nursing and multi professional programmes. With a Masters degree in Child Development, she is committed to ensuring that nurses are able to consider a range of developmental theories to meet the individual needs of children and young people today.

Research interest

I have a wide range of interests which include the support of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Attention Hyperactivity Deficit Disorder.

Selected Publications

I have been the Consultant editor for the Oxford dictionary of nursing and their mini nursing dictionary since 1994.

I contributed 3 chapters to Moules T, Ramsay J, 2nd edition, 2008, The textbook of child and young people's nursing, Blackwell Science.

I have presented at a number of conferences for the RCN and for Surestart on topics such as developing a student portfolio and developing normative sleeping patterns in infants.
