Outline of career

Since graduating from the University of Manchester in 2007, I have been employed as a researcher at the University of Central Lancashire (2008-2010) and Anglia Ruskin University.
My current research project is a European Commission funded (Daphne 3 fund) project titled 'Street life safety for young people'. The project is funded for 2 years and involves 8 European partners investigating perceptions and experiences of crime, anti-social behaviour and bullying of young people age 11-16 before and after the school day.

Research interest

My research interests include gender and intoxicants in historical and contemporary contexts, governance and social control, and mixed methodologies.
