Paulette also works with undergraduate and postgraduate students who are carrying out major projects and is on supervisory teams for five doctoral researchers. She is a member of the team who lead weekend study workshops for EdD candidates
Outline of Career
Paulette has worked in the field of early childhood, throughout her career as a teacher, foster carer, school-home liaison worker, nursery practitioner and advisor, and as a childcare and education lecturer in further education.Paulette joined Anglia Ruskin University in 2003 and is currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Education. In addition to the teaching highlighted above, she is vice-chair of the Faculty Research Ethics Panel (FREP) and member of the Research Ethics SubCommittee (RESC).
Paulette is an external examiner for the Foundation Degree in Early Years and the Graduate Diploma in Early Years Practice at the University of Northampton.
Research Interests
Paulette is the convenor of the Early Childhood Research Group, affiliated to the Children and Youth Research Institute, and her current research focuses upon:- Observation and pedagogical documentation in early years settings
- Learning journals as tools for reflection and relational pedagogy
