Outline of Career

Marianne Kiff has extensive experience as a primary school class teacher and deputy head. She held a number of posts with responsibility for Literacy, Science, Geography, Art and Music during her career. She also held the post of head teacher before joining the staff at Anglia Ruskin University.

In addition to her role as a lecturer on a number of courses including English and Maths she also supervises trainee teachers on placement and acts as personal tutor for students. Most recently she has taken on the role of module leader within the Education Studies programme.



Research Interests

Marianne is currently following her interest in Restorative Approaches to Discipline and bad behaviour in the primary classroom. She will be conducting a research project involving the way in which attitudes towards discipline might be influenced by training students in these approaches. She has links with practitioners in the USA who are also trying to adopt this approach in their own practice.

In support of this project , Marianne has been investigating the research evidence that exists in the field of effective practice in ITT provision.
