Outline of career

I qualified as staff nurse in 1999 and worked in Jordan University Hospital for one year, then I moved to the UK in 2000, where I worked as a staff nurse and senior staff nurse in various acute NHS Trusts, particularly in medical and critical care setting in Ipswich, London and Nottingham. I also worked as a research associate at the School of Nursing, University of Nottingham from 2008 - 2009.

Research Interest

My main research interest is patient safety and medication safety. During my PhD, I undertook qualitative interviews to investigate the organisational issues, which influence the safety of medication administration in adult critical care setting. However, I'm also interested in issues around domestic violence among older people, having worked on research project on domestic violence among older women at the University of Nottingham.
