Outline of career
Kerrie studied psychology (2001-2005) at the University of Aberdeen, then studied for a PhD at Cardiff University (completed 2009) exploring cognitive neuroscience of recency memory. She then co-ordinated the Epilepsy & Depression in Primary Care project, working with Prof Mike Kerr in School of Medicine at Cardiff University (2008-2010).Kerrie is currently working as a Research Fellow in the Department of Primary & Public Health at Anglia Ruskin University, with Professor Jenny Secker. She holds a joint contract with the South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT) and Anglia Ruskin University.
Research Interest
Kerrie has a broad interest in mental health. She is currently researching:- The use of participatory arts projects for people with, or at risk of mental health conditions
- Wellbeing and social inclusion in a higher education setting with staff and students
- The artists' perspective of mental health recovery through participatory art
- Motivational interviewing as an addition to evidence based employment support
- Trust in physician, self-efficacy and self-advocacy in decision making in people with a diagnosis of epilepsy.
