Outline of Career

After training at Romford School of Nursing I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1990. I then gained staffing experience in general medicine at Rush Green Hospital. I progressed to set up pre-admission surgical services for Barking, Havering and Brentwood Health Authority hospitals, subsequently working as a Specialist Nurse. Then I joined Havering Hospitals NHS Trust as the Nurse Manager for Outpatient Services before moving into practice developments at Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust.

During this time I also started some inter-professional project research work as a study centre co-ordinator with the rheumatology team. I onwardly worked as the Senior Research Nurse on one of the studies. In 2002 I joined London South Bank University as a Senior Lecturer and I moved to Anglia Ruskin University in 2011.
