Outline of Career

Helen Moor has always had a keen interest in disease and healthcare and during her undergraduate education worked part-time in the healthcare industry as a care assistant. She continues to play a role in specialist care provision outside of the University. During and after completion of her PhD Helen worked in a medical devices company and was responsible for testing such devices for Quality Assurance purposes.

Helen joined Anglia Ruskin University in 2009 as a laboratory technician to assist with the everyday running of the laboratory. She was very keen to contribute directly to the research of the laboratory and was appointed as a post-doctoral research fellow in January 2013.

Research Interest

It was her fascination with disease that led to her doctoral research involving the study of viruses and cancer biology. The cancer aspect of her studies fuelled her interest in this field further and this underlies her current research into breast cancer. Helen also continues to be interested in many other disease types especially those related to pathogens.
