Outline of career

Gill Hurst is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Health & Social Care at Anglia Ruskin University, where her academic role includes lecturing on various undergraduate modules.

Gill qualified as a nurse in 1988. She worked in acute surgery/urology on qualification, then moved into caring for older people. In 1992, she started a full time degree in Nursing Studies and Education at Hull University. Gill started in nurse education in 1995, at Peterborough. In 1998, she went to Age Concern Institute at Kings and did a part time masters in gerontology.

Research Interest

Scholarly and research interests are focused on the Health Information Seeking behaviours of older people, which is being explored as part of her Doctorate in Health Research being undertaken at University of Hertfordshire.
