Outline of career

May 1996 - November 2005 - Worked at Three Bridges Medium Secure Unit, West London Mental Health NHS Trust, both in-patient and Community settings to a senior level (Grade G)
November 2005 to present- Senior Lecturer, Anglia Ruskin University.

Research Interest

Have special interest in the following areas;
Provision of care for mentally disordered offenders in secure settings (Forensic Mental Health Nursing Care); Culture and spirituality in mental nursing care, and Promoting Recovery from mental illness.
I am currently researching the following topics;
  1. An exploration of International and Black Minority Ethnic students' Experiences with Teaching, Learning and Assessment approaches in the Faculty of Health and Social Care
  2. The Role of Culture in understanding of mental illness and its treatment among Africans with special interest in Ghanaian service users and carers in London.
