Outline of career

I qualified in 2000 and began working as a forensic social worker for Cambridgeshire County Council before moving to a private sector secure setting in Newmarket as a senior forensic social worker in 2002. In 2006 I was the Head of Social Work at a sister hospital in Kent before returning to East Anglia as a locum social worker; locum placements have included Early Intervention Services, Child Protection Services and hospital discharge roles before returning to forensic services with Norfolk in 2009. I completed an MA in 2008 with UEA in Advanced Social Work Practice & Planning and have been working with students since 2007 as a Practice Educator, and began teaching with ARU in 2009.

Research Interest

I am currently considering an ethnographic study of the difficulties children face in the transition from primary to secondary schooling.
