Professor David Humber
Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean
David Humber, joined Anglia Ruskin University in 2007. He obtained his first degree from the University of Southampton and his PhD from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University College Hospital, University of London. Professor Humber then worked as a Researcher and Associate Professor in the UK, Kenya and Ethiopia for thirteen years before joining the University of East London (UEL).His research interests are in biomedical research looking at the immunology of infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis, leprosy and leishmaniasis (a parasitic disease spread through bites and sand flies). Professor Humber has taught at all levels from Certificate in Midwifery through to PhD supervision.
Having held the position of Head of the School of Health and Bioscience at the University of East London (UEL), Professor Humber has brought a wealth of experience to the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education. It is his mission to strengthen and grow the East of England health and social care workforce of the future and to build on the Faculty's local, national and international reputation for high quality education, training, research and consultancy.
