Outline of career

David has worked with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust since 1985 delivering out of hospital unscheduled and emergency care in a variety of settings including three years on the Air Ambulance.

During his career he has studied with University of East Anglia to achieve both a Bachelor of Education Honours Degree and a Masters Degree in Health Sciences. David has also worked as a senior lecturer at University of Hertfordshire for three years on their Paramedic programmes. He has acted as an external examiner for Teesside University paramedic programmes for 5 years.


Research Interests

David has an interest in research into volunteering and why people volunteer to put themselves in challenging and potentially dangerous situations.
