Outline of career

Lyn started her career in 1979 when she began her training as a psychiatric nurse. Following the birth of her eldest two children, she trained and worked as a registered general nurse before the birth of her third child in 1988. She qualified as a midwife in 1991 and has worked across all areas of maternity services.

In 2006 she was one of two midwives who project managed and set up the midwife led birth unit at Peterborough City Hospital. The unit continues to strive to offer women centered services for low risk women.

Lyn has just completed her Msc in Midwifery & women's health. She has always enjoyed teaching student midwives and in 2012 she was seconded into the role of midwifery link lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University.
